Set on the banks of the Pit River in the Madesi Valley of Shasta County is CampSite Pros Pit River RV Park and Campground. Within minutes of the park are Hunt Hot Springs and amazing fishing on the Pit River from our bank is possible and recommended.  The Pit River is one of only three rivers that crosses the Cascades mountain range and drains into the Pacific Ocean. From the park is a striking view of Chalk Mountain which has a natural exposed slide feature of diatomaceous earth. The slide is locally called the "White Buffalo," since it resembles a white bison. Another prominent mountain hovering over the park is called Bald Peak, which has dozens of cold water springs, creating numerous creeks that feed into the Pit River.

Hot Springs - CampSite Pros Pit River RV Park and Campground is situated in the Northern California region for its geothermal hot springs. There are several hot spring sources along the Kosk River. Kosk Hot Springs and Hunt Hot Springs are just a few minutes from our park.

Iron Canyon Reservoir - CampSite Pros Pit River RV Park and Campground is Located 5.8 miles from Iron Canyon Reservoir which also boasts great fishing. Iron Canyon Reservoir impounds water diverted from the McCloud River and contains Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout. This reservoir provides an opportunity for canoeing, kayaking and float tubing.

The Pit River is a "free stone river" and provides excellent fishing for McCloud River redband trout.

The Pit River has had occasional white water level releases from the dams to provide white water rafting with Class 4 and Class 5 rapids.

A highly scenic gravel road follows the Pit River upstream from Big Bend to Highway 89 near McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
